Time Lapse Video: 2014 Le Mans Racer Nissan Zeod RC Build

The Nissan/Nismo ZEOD RC (Zero Emission On Demand Race Car) is basically a hybrid electric version of the Nissan DeltaWing, built to be raced at the 2014 Le Mans 24 hour race. It will compete in the “Garage 56” class, which was created by the race’s sanctioning body, the Automobile Club de L’Ouest (ACO) for cars that showcase new and innovative technology. The existence of such a group helps further develop battery technology for both road and race cars in the future. The design team, headed by Ben Bowlby, “…has concentrated heavily on packaging and aerodynamic efficiency..” since batteries have not gotten to the point where they are able to solely power a car for a full endurance race…yet.
